Stones Remember
Long before money, there were stones.
For thousands of years, across every culture on earth, gems and precious metals carried more than value. They carried meaning. Worn as relics. Traded as friendship. Buried with the beloved. Set into the instruments of worship and the crowns of kings. A stone outlives the hand that holds it, and connects us, across oceans and centuries, to everyone who held it before.
That connection is what Luna Ilum is built on.
We have partnered with the Ancient Modern Project, a non-profit rebuilding the lost threads between the world's cultures through the relics, the music, and the precious things they once exchanged.
A share of every Luna Ilum purchase fuels that work. It runs on four pillars.
One — Research
We study the ancient relics that prove how connected we already were. A Greek ambassador named Heliodorus raised a pillar in India over 2,100 years ago and declared himself a devotee of Krishna. A Shiva Lingam was unearthed in Cebu, proof that Vedic worship reached the Philippines long before the West arrived. A golden Hindu-Buddhist goddess lay in a Philippine riverbank for a thousand years before she was found. Long before borders, the world traded not only goods, but spirit, art, and devotion.
Two — Documentation
We travel to these places, Asia first, and record what is fading before it disappears: the ancient music, the storytelling, the relics, and the goldwork and gemwork found alongside them. The goldsmiths of the old Philippine ports once sailed to the courts of China, carrying their craft across the sea. We are documenting those ancient friendships, and beginning to rebuild them.
Three — Modernization
We place what we find into the hands of the next generation. Young artists alongside accomplished musicians and producers bring the ancient back to life. An old Chinese string laid over an acoustic track from the islands. A taiko drum remixed into something new. Ancient connection, made for today.
Four — Activation
We carry it back to the people, through our channels, our films, and live events where cultures meet on one stage and create what none of them could make alone.
